Founding member of the International Bone Research Association (IBRA, founded 2004) 

Scientific focus on 3D-Diagnostics and surgical planning, traumatology of the TMJ (Pichler-award of the Austrian Society of Maxillofacial Surgery and Wassmund-award of the German Society of Maxillofacial Surgery, Award of the Austrian Dental Association), bone regeneration and osseointegration.

Scientific awards :
1992 Scientific Award of the Austrian Society of Dentistry (Wissenschaftlicher Förderpreis der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Zahn-, Mund- und Kieferheilkunde) for the work on 3-D photogrammetric analysis of the face.1993 Scientific Award of the German Society of Maxillofacial Surgery (Wassmundpreis der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie) for the Thesis on Condylar Fractures 1993 Scientific Award of the Austrian Society of Maxillofacial Surgery

Clinical spectrum: Tumour surgery including microvascular reconstruction, malformation surgery (clefts, craniosynostoses, hypertelorism, rare craniofacial malformations), traumatology including cranial base fractures, traumatologic and functional TMJ-surgery, all types of orthognathic surgery including LeFort II, III
