Abstract

 

The ISFARO Scientific Committee is pleased to invite you to submit an abstract for consideration for the award paper sessions for residents/postgraduates, award paper sessions for consultants and poster presentation for awards at the 2nd Annual Conference of The Indian Society for Facial Trauma, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery of Otorhinolaryngologists. (ISFAROCON 2022).

Abstracts for award paper sessions for residents/postgraduates, award paper sessions for consultants and poster presentation for awards should contribute to education, research or clinical practice.

⦁ LATE Abstract Submission deadline is 5nd October 2022.
⦁ Presenting author of the abstract must be registered to the conference no later than 5nd October 2022.
⦁ Abstracts of the presenting authors who do not register to the meeting and do not make the registration payment by the deadline will be cancelled and removed from the program

Abstracts General Guidelines

  • All abstracts must be submitted on-line through the abstract submission portal. Abstracts that are sent via email or fax will not be included in the abstract assessment process by the Scientific Committee.
    • All abstracts should be prepared in English.
    • If an abstract is accepted for presentation, the first author must undertake to present it.
    • Each participant may only submit one abstract as a presenting author. In the case of having more than one abstract submitted by the same presenting author, the Scientific Committee will select one of the abstracts.
    • The presenting author assumes full responsibility for the content of the abstract and must ensure that all other authors are aware of this content before the abstract is submitted.

Preparation of Abstracts

* Presenting Author Information: Please enter the presenting author details, the full name of the institution with department included and contact information.
* Corresponding Author(s) Information: First, middle and last names of the authors must be fully indicated correctly and in the right order.
* Corresponding Authors Institution(s): The institution(s) of the authors should be indicated fully with the “department” and “institution” names while avoiding any abbreviations such as Dept., Inst., Hosp., etc. And in the right order. The institution and city should be written in lower case while the initials of each word are written in capitals.
Abstract title can contain a maximum of 250 characters.
Abstract Text: Abstract text should not exceed 250 words.

Abstract texts should be consisting of four sections given below:

For original research/ reviews:
• Introduction
• Aim & Objectives
• Materials & Methods
• Results / Conclusion

For case studies:
• Introduction / Background
• Case description
• Learning Objectives

Instruction of Oral / Poster Presentation:

For Oral Postgraduate award paper
• Oral presentations should be 7 minutes to summarize the abstract, with 3 additional minutes for questions and answers (total of 10 minutes of presentation time).
• Powerpoint presentation files should be uploaded prior to the session at the venue speaker ready room.
• Own laptops will not be allowed for presentations
• Presenters should arrive 10 minutes before the session starts to check in with session co-chairs.

For Oral Consultant award paper
• Oral presentations should be 10 minutes to summarize the abstract, with 5 additional minutes for questions and answers (a total of 15 minutes of presentation time).
• Powerpoint presentation files should be uploaded prior to the session at the venue speaker ready room.
• Own laptops will not be allowed for presentations
• Presenters should arrive 10 minutes before the session starts to check in with session co-chairs.

For Poster Presentation
• The poster surface area is 1 meter (100cm or 39 inches) wide horizontal by 2 meters (200cm or 78 inches) tall vertical. It is recommended that your poster size be 92cm x 120cm (36 inches wide x 48 inches tall) with final size determined by each author.
• Each poster must have a top label indicating the title of the paper, the names of the authors and their affiliations.
• The size of the characters for the title should be large enough to be viewed at a distance of 2 meters.
• The tape will be provided for you to affix your poster to the display boards.
• You may hand out information sheets to those viewing your poster.
• Charts, drawings, and illustrations may be used within the poster.
• Posters should be printed on paper or laminated paper. Do not use heavy cardboard or other heavy materials for mounting.
• “Introduction” and “Conclusion” sections are helpful. When feasible, use graphs for demonstrating qualitative relationships, tables of precise numerical values. Photographs should be printed on non-glossy matte finish paper.
• Do not mail your poster
• Do not fold your poster. Instead, transport the poster in an appropriate container.
• Our staff or volunteers will be present to assist you with locating poster boards and mounting.

Other Important Informations
⦁ It is possible to make changes in the already submitted abstracts until 5th October, 2022 by email : abstract.isfaro@gmail.com. It will not be possible to make changes after this deadline. 
⦁ Please ensure that the email address of the presenting author should be entered correctly to enable the Scientific committee to get in contact with you regarding the abstract. All information regarding the acceptance, any required adjustments, and schedule will be communicated through the presenting author email.

Notification Letters
⦁ The Scientific Committee will evaluate all submitted abstracts following the abstract submission deadline, and the acceptance letters will be sent latest by 8th October 2022 via email.
⦁ Relevant information about your abstract’s presentation, including the presentation date, time, hall, presentation number will be included in the acceptance letters.
